Yellowstone National Park

Here are some photos finally! Yeah! We had a lot of fun on our road trip to Yellowstone and the boys were troopers. It was a lot of driving though because once we got there we drove, and drove, and drove some more to see the beautiful landscapes and annoy as many people as we possibly could with Gabe's selection of elk calls. Ranger caught on quick by watching the older boys do it. He began blowing in his and would laugh hysterically at what he could do! It was funny and cute for about 5 min. of listening to it and then the elk call had to go bye bye. Being October, all we mainly saw was Buffalo and Elk. We did see a lot of them and it was fun to get so close and the boys loved it when we could get them to bugle back to us. One night we were heading back towards the hotel and it was dark. We spotted some cow elk on the left hand side of the road so we pulled off to the right and put the spotlight on them. Gabe got out and began working his magic with his bugle and all of the sudden he hears something coming up behind him and tells me to hurry and shine the light that way. There was the bull elk... 10 yards from our truck. The boys were so excited when the elk bugled back at us. Then he got a little too close for Ryder and he began saying, "roll my window up! roll my window up!" The elk crossed the road behind us almost rubbing up against the truck. Definitely way cooler to see it up close in real life then on one of the thousand dvds we own! Yellowstone was beautiful with all of the trees, rivers, lakes, animals, and geysers. Very grateful that we were able to go and would love to go again someday and camp in the summertime.

Gabe and Ranger in front of Old Faithful. It must be the sulfer in the air that is causing those faces!

Ryder spotted this buffalo and had to have his picture in front of it. He loves horses!

Ranger loves to give kisses to any animal. Apparently they can even be made of cold steel!

And that's all folks!

Looks like a fun trip! Wish we could have gone with you. We will have to go again and camp out when we get a trailer.
